Volunteer and kids in Cape Town
2008 has been a banner year not only for Projects Abroad but especially for our programs in South Africa. The number of volunteers heading to South Africa has tripled over the past year and our programs have grown and developed as well! The volunteers are definitely starting to make a noticeable impact and people are starting to take notice.
One of our Human Rights volunteers, Leo McAuley, was quoted in a Cape Argus newspaper article about conditions at a refugee camp (click here for the article) that was picked up by the IOL, which is the CNN of South Africa. Way to go Leo!
Dana Myers our Country Director was also interviewed on Bush Radio 89.5 FM in Cape Town on July 8th about our Human Rights internships.
Congrats to all our hard working volunteers and staff members!
